Our family – Mum, Dad & 3 kids (8,10&13) purchased our Johnno’s Camper Trailer and headed off on a 17,000km trip – all in 6 weeks! Bundaberg to Perth via Birdsville, Simpson Desert, Uluru, Warbuton & Kalgoorlie. Then north to Broome, along the Gibb River Road to Kununurra onto Katherine, southern end Kakadu, Longreach and home – all done travelling through September and October, a very hot time of the year in Northern Australia.

We gave the trailer a pretty good testing over this time & were extremely happy with it’s performance.

As a family we haven’t been on camping holidays, due to disagreements over what was to go & what was to stay at home. The Johnno’s trailer gave us all the comforts of home and many other benefits beside…

  • Flexibility over where we stayed & for how long
  • Ample space for everyone to get a good nights sleep
  • Plenty of storage room for all the bedding etc
  • So easy to pack up & down, because most places we only overnighted
  • We knew every night what cooking facilities we had available & could prepare all our own meals
  • The fuel jerry cans meant we could bypass fuel stops that were $1.70/ l
  • Ample storage containers of clean drinking water – many areas have salty bore water as the supply
  • An easy ride – the trailer handled very well
  • ..the before and after sale service has been outstanding.

OUR JOHNNO’S CAMPER TRAILER

Dear Dave and Jo (Townsville Franchisee)

This is a letter of thanks for your extra special and professional customer service and getting us on our way to our dream holiday. On 1 July we were at our wits end when our camper trailer dream turned into a disaster when the trailer company failed to deliver. You and Townsville Fabrications went out of your way to assist us.

Now that we have returned we want to give you our run down on the 40th Anniversary edition Johnno’s camper trailer. Sorry for the delay – but now we are on Christmas Holidays I have time to write. And wish you a Merry Christmas as well. We received the paint and stickers plus the certificate in the mail as well, so thanks for that as too.

The Trip
We travelled over 9200km. Our first stop was Lawn Hill up to the Savannah Way and then onto Kakadu. After exploring NT we headed for the WA completing 100km of the Gibb River Road. Finally after visiting the Bungle Bungles on an extremely rough road - taking 2 ½ hours to travel 53km - we headed home.

Set up/Pack Up
Set up was easy especially for overnight stays. We would take the boat off and within 10 – 15 minutes have the bed ready to sleep in. It took longer if we decided to use the awning and walls etc. but that is the beauty of the camper it is flexible depending on what you want to use it for. On average we took 2 hours to pack up but that includes breaky and a shower and it also depended how many days we had stayed. We soon learnt to get the zipper done up with ease. And sometimes we thought it was so easy that we’d forgotten something – but we hadn’t. (Left Litchfield National Park)

Conclusion
In conclusion we had a fabulous 8 weeks living out of our Johnno’s Camper Trailer 10th Anniversary limited edition Camper. For a purchase in a hurry it certainly met all of our requirements and more and made our trip one to remember for a life time. Thank you Johnno’s Camper Trailers and in particular Dave and Jo for a great start to our holiday - we couldn’t have done it without you. Thanks.
